NEW Siemens 1.5T MRI scanner visits Bridge Referrals

One of our dedicated, mobile MRI imaging teams was delighted to make their first visit to Bridge Referrals, in South Tyneside last month with our NEW Siemens Magnetom Avanto 1.5T MRI scanner now on board.

This latest addition to our mobile fleet enables our team of experienced veterinary-trained radiographers to provide reliable, high-quality imaging with greater image consistency and ultimately diagnostic confidence.   

Bridge Referrals is an exciting independent, multidisciplinary small animal referral centre and their innovative new building has been open now for just three months. The centre provides the North East region with a multidisciplinary service in advanced orthopaedics, diagnostic imaging (including CT and MRI), soft tissue surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine, and oncology.

They are also the only referral centre in the North of England that is Carbon Neutral, and are committed to reducing their emissions by 50% by 2030 and becoming carbon zero by 2050 at the very latest!

A mobile Burgess Diagnostics team visits Bridge on a fortnightly basis to provide advanced MRI imaging to support their referral services and cases of brain and spinal cord conditions in particular, including  

• Brain diseases (tumours, strokes, cranial nerve disorders, meningitis) and investigation of seizures.
• Spinal disease (Intervertebral disc disease, tumours, fibrocartilagenous embolism).
